Reading:
In August, I read 17 books!
12 books more than last month -- I owe this increase to watching the movie Twisters and then going on BookTok only to be recommended all the cowboy romances by Elsie Silver and Lyla Sage. Can't wait for Elsie Silver's new book Wild Eyes coming out this Tuesday!
I also was lucky enough to go to Nisha Sharma's launch event for Marriage & Masti at the Ripped Bodice in Brooklyn with my lovely friend Sanjana Basker -- it was SO fun and I finally got around to reading Tastes Like Shakkar before picking up the new release.

Eating:
Technically this is "drinking" but...
In true summer fashion, I've been having a lot of margaritas. My favorite restaurant in Brooklyn makes a spicy pineapple version that you can get with a green chartreuse float and it is to die for. I know I talked about some favorite cocktail combos last month, and of course the best snack pairing for a spicy margarita is spicy guacamole and well salted + seasoned tortilla chips. I am completely unbiased in saying the best chips are the Jalapeño Agave made by Mi Niña :)
I'm going to Paris next month, so if you have any restaurant recommendations for me drop them in the comments!

Playing:
This month's Spotify "On Repeat"
Reading lots of country books, and listening to lots of country music <3 Not Ready To Make Nice by The Chicks has been my favorite this month -- if you haven't seen their CMAs performance with Beyoncé, you HAVE to stop reading this, , then come back.

Obsessing:
Lizzie McGuire, you are an outfit repeater!
I recently purchased this top from a closet sale, and I have been wearing it almost every day since. I discovered it's from this brand called , which describes itself as a "circular fashion project created through artful repairs and unconventional tailoring."
Each piece is one of a kind and handmade in small batches. I have the style made out of an old Ralph Lauren men's shirt! The butter yellow color has been a favorite of mine as of late, it's definitely going to serve as inspo for my next nail set. I am wearing it in the picture above too, but here's a better one featuring my dog Toast :)

Recommending:
Sapph-Lit's September book!
Intimacy and the notion of love are discovered in bell hooks’ third sequel in her love series. _Communion: The Female Search for Love _challenges everything that we thought we knew about feminism. Have women indeed championed all things concerning equally? Are they really on the road to total wellness, or are we all just living in the delusion of gender equality being on the horizon?

Treating:
Rest <3
I haven't done the *best* job of it this past month -- I overbooked myself with work and events, have been horseback riding multiple times a week, and did quite a bit of travel.
But as the month has come to a close, I'm watching the US Open, going to the beach or the pool, reading, cleaning my apartment, and spending time with my partner in our home together.
As September comes, I want to keep listening to my body and learn how to say no when I need to. Being burnt out sucks! Rest is productive too!

See you at the end of September for my next REPORT!
xx Nina
